El rey de Nueva York es una película estadounidense de 1990, protagonizada por Christopher Walken y dirigida por el realizador de cine independiente Abel Ferrara. Fue escrita por Nicholas St. John, amigo cercano de Ferrara.


La producción y costos de la película fue financiada por aficionados importantes de Italia, entre ellos Silvio Berlusconi.



Sinopsis


La película trata sobre Frank White (Christopher Walken), un rico y poderoso gánster metido en el negocio de las drogas, quien intenta volver a liderar el negocio luego de cumplir una sentencia en prisión. Al ser liberado, Frank se reúne con su banda para recuperar el control de los bajos fondos de Nueva York. Para esto se enfrentan violentamente con los capos del resto de la ciudad y con la policía, tratando de obtener ventajas y liderazgo sobre el resto de las organizaciones.
