El mexcalpique del Toboso (Characodon audax)[3]​ es una especie de pez actinopeterigio de agua dulce,[4]​ de la familia de los goodeidos.[5]​



Distribución y hábitat


Se distribuye por ríos de América del Norte, en cuencias fluviales del centro de México.[3]​ Son peces de agua dulce subtropical, de comportamiento demersal.[3]​
