I'm asking for some advice how to fix my VLC player, which is reported "the latest version" to my sudo apt-get upgrade.
However, at least couple of times the player has stopped working (black screen) during an average length movie, responding only to a double click on a space-key.
The sound level is hard to regulate from the keyboard too.
VLC was installed by the Terminal.
What could be the problem, and how can I fix it?
