So I recently built a new computer and planned on using a m.2 SSD for OS and a standard SATA SSD for storage. Both are found in BIOS. They weren't shown when doing initial install, so I installed onto a external USB drive. In Ubuntu I can get them to display when using sudo lshw -C disk. Whenever I try to make any changes to them, I get "No such file or directory". I had the same problems with both of these SSD drives when I booted this system using a drive with Windows previously installed. I'm guessing it's a hardware related issue, but can't seem to figure out where the problem is. Can anyone help?

Almost all new computers need UEFI updates from vendor and then firmware updates from SSD vendor or computer vendor may have them available. Also you must make sure Windows fast start up which is always on hibernation is off. askubuntu.com/questions/843153/…
