I am a newbie to ubuntu and I am assigned to work on package management solution for end users at my company.
I would like a simple way of making a package available to my endpoints. For example all machines should have the current version of Chrome, we should always get that upstream from Google.
I would like a simple way of holding a package at a version (for example kernel until validated or drivers until validated.
I would like a simple way of uploading a custom package (for example we get 3rd party print drivers or application installers)
I would like the service to be available to my clients when they are on premise and off premise.
I would like to restrict endpoint ubuntu users to only getting packages from our repo.
The end point user should be able to install the packages they need with a simple apt install X / and to the approved version with an apt update / apt upgrade.
Could you please suggest any package management solution?
