I recently installed Ubuntu 18.10 on my shiny new ideapad 330s-15arr and upgraded the storage with the even shiner 15Gb Samsung 970EVO and 1TB Samsung 860EVO. I even went so far as to upgrade to the latest kernel I could find at the time (5.0.4-050004-generic) to minimize hardware issues. Now, I only have two issues, One I can live with for the time being, and the other, not so much. The one I can't live without is the lack of touchpad. No movement or click. I was only able to install and am only able to use the laptop with an external mouse which sortof defeats the purpose of a laptop if you need to carry extra stuff around just to use it. The second issue I'm having is that the wifi isn't working which I can live without at least for the time being. If it helps any, here are the outputs for lspci, lsusb and acpidump | grep -C3 ELAN
