RSK, también conocido como Rootstock, es una plataforma P2P sobre Bitcoin que permite la ejecución de contratos inteligentes.



Características


En contraposición a Bitcoin, cuyo lenguaje está intencionalmente restringido para maximizar su seguridad, la plataforma de RSK facilita la creación de programas distribuidos más complejos. Para ello se apoya en Solidity, un lenguaje Turing completo con una sintaxis similar a Javascript. El bytecode generado tras su compilación se ejecuta directamente en la máquina virtual de RSK. El código de RSK mantiene la compatibilidad con el de Ethereum.[2]​


La moneda nativa de RSK es el bitcoin. Mediante la creación de una vinculación bidireccional entre la cadena de bloques de Bitcoin y la de RSK, se consigue que cada bitcoin esté disponible en una sola cadena al mismo tiempo.[2]​ Esto permite que la base monetaria global respete los valores establecidos en el patrón de emisión principal.


La seguridad del sistema de RSK se fija a través de un sistema mixto. Primeramente, una federación de entidades de confianza que ayuda a mover los bitcoins entre las dos cadena de bloques, y después, una potencia de minería que recibe comisiones de transacción. RSK utiliza GHOST para conseguir tiempos medios de confirmación entre bloques de 10 segundos. La capacidad transaccional máxima para pagos simples está estimada en aproximadamente 400 transacciones por segundo.[2]​
